प्रारम्भिक परीक्षा – सामान्य ज्ञान से संबंधित निम्नलिखित विषयों से संबंधित बहुविकल्पीय उत्तर आधारित प्रश्न पूछे जायेंगे। परीक्षा की अवधि दो घंटों की होगी।

मुख्य परीक्षा :- मुख्य परीक्षा के लिए तीन पत्र होंगे। प्रत्येक पत्र की परीक्षा की अवधि दो घंटे की होगी। प्रत्येक प्रश्न तीन अंक के होंगे। सही उत्तर के लिए तीन अंक प्रदान किये जायेंगे एवं प्रत्येक गलत उत्तर के लिए एक अंक की कटौती की जाएगी।
पत्र 1 -विषय : (भाषा ज्ञान)
- हिन्दी भाषा ज्ञान – 60 प्रश्न
- अंग्रेजी भाषा ज्ञान – 60 प्रश्न
पत्र 2 – (क्षेत्रीय / जनजातीय भाषा ज्ञान)
हिन्दी/अंग्रेजी/उर्दु / संथाली / बंगला / मुण्डारी (मुण्डा) / हो/खड़िया / कुडूख (उराँव) / कुरमाली / खोरठा/नागपुरी/पंचपरगनिया / उड़िया / संस्कृत में से किसी एक भाषा की परीक्षा विकल्प के आधार पर अभ्यर्थी दे सकेंगे। इस परीक्षा में संबंधित भाषा के एक सौ (100) बहुविकल्पीय उत्तर आधारित प्रश्न पूछे जायेंगे।
पत्र 3 – इस पत्र में पूछे जाने वाले प्रश्नों की संख्या 120 होंगे एवं विषय तथा प्रश्नों की संख्या अधोलिखित होगी :-
- सामान्य अध्ययन – 30 प्रश्न
- झारखण्ड राज्य से संबंधित ज्ञान – 40 प्रश्न
- सामान्य विज्ञान – 20 प्रश्न
- सामान्य गणित – 10 प्रश्न
- मानसिक क्षमता जाँच – 10 प्रश्न
- कम्प्यूटर का ज्ञान – 10 प्रश्न
